I first experienced Yoga as an early 20-something living in California. I found myself wandering around the gym desperately in search for an “off” day and stumbled onto the mat for the first time. I would stumble on and off the mat inconsistently for the next 5 years casually enjoying what I thought of as a moment to breathe. It wasn’t until a move to a new city and finding myself in the midst of trying to “find myself” would I be overcome by the transformative power of yoga; physically, emotionally and spiritually. The deeper I immersed myself into my practice the more I felt “at home” in my own skin. I’ve come to realize that sense of balance I experienced is actually the core of all of us and a gift that was too good to keep to myself , thus began my life-long yoga journey.
